Paul Smalley, who was the technical head of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), quit his job on Saturday.
Smalley has given the group in charge of football in the country his letter of retirement. But the board hasn’t agreed to it yet.
The 56-year-old had almost a year left on his contract with the BFF. Recently, it was said that he was in talks with the BFF head, Kazi Salahuddin, about a big raise in his salary and perks, which, according to his most recent contract, are around 16 lac taka per month.
BFF had already told the Englishman, who had just come back to Bangladesh from Eid vacation, that he would not be part of the latest assignment of the Bangladesh Women’s team, which included FIFA friendlies against Nepal on July 13 and July 16, because his contract was still being negotiated.In the first FIFA match against Nepal, Sabina Khatun and her team tied 1-1.
