On Wednesday in Singapore, a preseason friendly between Bayern Munich and Liverpool was played. The German league winners rallied from behind twice to win 4-3. A sensational goal scored in stoppage time by Frans Kratzig clinched the victory for Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old player scored the game-winning goal with a shot that went between Alisson’s legs as stoppage time began, putting an exciting match in front of roughly 50,000 spectators at the National Stadium to rest.
Cody Gakpo scored a goal within of two minutes, and Virgil van Dijk scored a goal off of a header, to give the English team a two-goal lead in the first half hour of the match. However, Bayern responded with goals from Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane to bring the score even before halftime.
Luis Diaz put Liverpool back in front around 15 minutes into the second half, but Josip Stanisic tied the score 3-3 in the 80th minute, and then Kevin Kratzig scored the game-winning goal in the last minute to give Bayern the victory.
Liverpool had already defeated Leicester City by a score of 4-0 at the same location the previous Sunday, and they surprised the defending German champions by scoring their first goal after just 112 seconds of play.
After beating the Bayern defense and putting the ball past Yann Sommer, Gakpo scored the game-winning goal by playing a nice one-two pass with Diogo Jota at the midfield line and then blasting the ball into the top of the net.
Benjamin Pavard’s header from five meters out hit the post, and then on the rebound, Benjamin Pavard nodded the ball over the crossbar, preventing Bayern from tying the game in the tenth minute.
They would come to regret that missed opportunity as Liverpool expanded their advantage in the 28th minute via newly appointed captain Van Dijk, who rose unchallenged in the Bayern area to head in Andy Robertson’s corner from the right. The goal put Liverpool up 3-0.
The lead was cut in half by Bayern Munich five minutes later when Gnabry scored after a pass from Kim Min-jae that went over the top of the Liverpool defense and was received by Gnabry, who then cut inside of Joel Matip and finished with his right foot past goalkeeper Alisson.
Gnarby was also instrumental in Bayern’s equalizer, which occurred three minutes before the break in the game.
After being sent clean down the left side by Mathys Tel, the German international winger charged into the Liverpool area before cutting the pass back for a Sane to finish with his left foot. Sane was unmarked at the time of the play.
After coming in as a replacement at halftime, Darwin Nunez had a golden opportunity to put Liverpool back in the lead early in the second half, but he missed the goal with his header.
At the opposite end, a vigilant Alisson was able to prevent Jamal Musiala from scoring by blocking his effort from point-blank range.
However, the English team would regain the lead in the 66th minute thanks to some outstanding play by Mohamed Salah. Salah came in from the right wing and cut inside before passing the ball to Diaz, who finished it off with an impressive strike.
Bayern began their comeback with ten minutes left in the game.
Kratzig launched a strong header, but Alisson made a great reflex save to keep it out of the goal. The rebound went to Stanisic, who scored from close range after turning the ball in.
After being set up by Diaz, Nunez then missed another opportunity for Liverpool to score a fourth goal and put the game out of reach.
Kratzig made them pay for the mistake by collecting a long ball from Matthijs De Ligt with a terrific first touch and then blasting a powerful attempt past Alisson. This made them pay for the missed opportunity.
