After it was revealed that the Argentine superstar Lionel Messi would be joining the American Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami, Google found that Bangladesh was the nation that searched ‘Inter Miami’ the most this week.

The number of Google searches conducted by Messi’s supporters in Bangladesh has overtaken those conducted in Messi’s home nation of Argentina. According to Google Trends, the most common criterion for a web search is 100, and Bangladesh received 100 for this indicator, but Argentina received 84.

Favian Renkel, a freelance journalist for the Major League Soccer, shared a figure on Twitter that showed Bangladesh to be at the top of the list. Argentine Republic was tied for the second place with Nepal (82), Haiti (81) and Ivory Coast (73), respectively. On this particular list, Iraq, Yemen, Congo, Honduras, and Nicaragua are among the top 10 nations. Positioned at number 14 on the list was Saudi Arabia, who expressed interest in signing Messi to play for them.

The Bangladeshi supporters of Argentina, on the other hand, were able to capture the attention of people all around the globe by demonstrating their enthusiasm for Argentina and Messi during the globe Cup in 2014. It was the first time that people all over the globe took note of Argentina’s large fan following in Bangladesh, despite the fact that many people in Bangladesh were previously aware of its existence.

The citizens of Argentina, in addition to members of the media and journalists, resorted to various forms of social media to express their gratitude to Bangladesh. Argentinians were also observed in the stadium during their World Cup games waving Bangladeshi flags and screaming “Bangladesh! Bangladesh!”
