Bangladesh’s Under-19 squad made easy work of their Japanese opponents, winning by nine wickets Thursday in Group B of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup in Dubai.
Bowling first, the young Tigers bowled Japan out for 99 in 47.1 overs, with seven bowlers taking wickets.
As the side reached 100-1 in 11.2 overs, Ashiqur Rahman scored an unbeaten 55 off 45 balls and his opening partner Jishan Alam hit a quickfire 29 off 16 balls.
Bangladesh has won two games in a row after defeating the UAE by 61 runs on Saturday.
Bangladesh has risen to the top of Group B’s four teams. On Wednesday, they will play their third and final group-stage match against Sri Lanka.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the tournament’s semifinals.
