After India’s 1-1 series tie in South Africa, the reigning ICC World Test champions, Australia, have taken the top spot in the Test team rankings once again.
Australia regained their position as the top Test team after a good run at home against Pakistan. They had previously held the position for a short while after defeating India in the WTC final.
India and Australia had the same rating of 118 prior to this upgrade.
But with more points in their pocket, India was able to maintain their hold on the top place as they dominated the men’s team standings across all forms.
The Pat Cummins-led team is currently atop the Test rankings after Australia won two games in a row against Pakistan and India drew their two-Test series 1-1 with South Africa.
With the top place and vital ICC World Test Championship points on the line, the third Test between Australia and Pakistan, which is now underway, and the following five-match Test series between India and England are expected to spark more action in the Test team rankings.
Bangladesh, however, was still ranked eighth in the standings.
