Australia in no rush to pick warner’s successor0

With David Warner poised to retire from Test cricket following Australia’s upcoming home series against Pakistan, the team is looking for a replacement at the top of the order.

However, the reigning ODI and T20 world champions are not in a rush to find Warner’s replacement and are taking their time weighing their possibilities.

As a like-for-like replacement, they already have Matthew Renshaw, Cameron Bancroft, and Marcus Harris lined up.

“We know they can play, they’ve got good numbers in Shield cricket, and I think if we were to go down that path and choose one of them, I think they would do a really good job,” Australia head coach Andrew McDonald said of the trio, all of whom have played at least 10 Tests.

However, the coach also stated that the Australian management is seriously considering moving Mitchell Marsh or Marnus Labuschagne to the opening position in order to make room for another all-rounder like as Cameron Green.

“I believe that many of our white-ball players who continue to play international cricket do not get a lot of Shield cricket, so there’s always the question of ‘are they at the mercy of selection because they’re not playing a certain format?'”

“You really have to juggle and balance that.” We believe you can come from a variety of running lines.”
