After being struck in the head by a bouncer bowled by Taskin Ahmed during the third session of day three of the one-off Test match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday, Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, walked off the field and retired hurt.
Shahidi failed to duck under the bouncer that Taskin bowled during the sixth over of Afghanistan’s innings, and the ball struck the back of his head as a result.
The athletic trainer ran into the room with Shahidi who was lying on the ground.The hitter was able to walk off the field without the assistance of a stretcher and left the field on his own two feet.
