During a recent interview, Ishant Sharma caused a commotion when he declared that Zaheer Khan was a better bowler than James Anderson. He also made a remark that hinted the English legend probably would not have been as successful if he had played in Indian conditions. This caused a great deal of controversy.
“The way that Jimmy Anderson bowls and the approach that he takes are very different. He competes in a variety of settings around England. Perhaps if he had played in India,” Ishant speculated.”Zak (Zaheer Khan). He went on to say that Zak was superior to Jimmy Anderson.
Sharma also discussed Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar, all of whom he believes have the potential to carry the torch for the Indian speed attack into the future provided they are “properly guided.””Umran Malik has the capacity to accomplish good for the country over a prolonged period of time if you work correctly with him. According to him, Arshdeep Singh comes in second, while Mukesh Kumar takes the third spot on the list.
Ishant also spoke highly of his teammate Mukesh Kumar from Delhi Capitals, who has been selected to play in the next test and one-day international series against the West Indies. He commended Mukesh’s ability to bowl effectively even in challenging conditions.
“I haven’t seen a man who was as straightforward as him (Mukesh Kumar), and not many people are familiar with his tale. If you give him specific instructions, he will only bowl those kind of deliveries to the batter. On the pitch, he needs to be given the appropriate direction so that when the high-pressure moment arises, he will know what bowling delivery to use.
“He was able to rack up runs in the IPL despite bowling the challenging overs. Nobody is aware of the circumstances in which he bowled or the batter to whom he delivered the ball. “It is obvious to everyone that he gave up 50 runs in just four overs,” remarked Sharma.
