On Tuesday, hundreds of Wrexham supporters flooded the streets to celebrate their club’s promotion to League Two. Hollywood celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were among the guests at Wrexham’s promotion celebration.

Wrexham has been given new life by Reynolds and McElhenney ever since they made the unexpected decision in 2021 to purchase the unfashionable National League side.

The transformation of Wrexham into a celebrity team has been chronicled in a documentary series produced by Disney. This has resulted in a degree of popularity for the club that is unheard of for a team competing at such a low level in English football.

Wrexham Football Club will return to the fourth division of English football for the first time in 15 years beginning with the next season. Reynolds and McElhenney’s rumored investment of £10 million is primarily responsible for its promotion.

The two sports fans have seen Wrexham play many times this year, including the match in which they secured promotion with a victory against Boreham Wood. They returned to north Wales for the trophy procession after the National League championship was successfully defended there.

The three open-top buses negotiated their way through a haze of red smoke caused by flares that were thrown off by supporters as they made their way around the city on a loop that started and terminated outside of Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground. Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster was subjected to fans chanting “one more year” at him.

Foster, who played in the Premier League with Watford the previous season, came out of retirement after Wrexham’s usual goalkeeper sustained an injury late in the season. He made a significant contribution by saving a penalty kick in the victory against promotion rivals Notts County. Foster played in the Premier League with Watford.

It is a testament to Wrexham’s prominence in the modern world that among the hundreds of Welsh dragons that lined the road, there were also maple leaves from Canada and the stars and stripes from the United States.

After taking time out of their vacation in Ireland to attend the party that was being put on by a club that they discovered during lockdown, an American couple joined the hundreds of fans who had set up camp in the parking lot of The Turf pub, which is located just next to the Racecourse Ground.

“With Covid happening all around the world, we heard this story, and we watched them on the streaming services,” said Robin Beattie. “We watched them on the streaming services.”

“We couldn’t help but fall in love with it. We were fortunate enough to be on holiday in Dublin, so we decided to pay a visit to the area. We are quite pleased to see that the town is buzzing with activity. The plot is similar to that of Cinderella. We are in awe of it. When two Hollywood stars chose to take over their club, the fans were entitled to ask what would become of their team after such a significant change.

However, Reynolds, who stars in the Marvel comic book series Deadpool, and McElhenney, who is a regular on the television show Always Sunny in Philadelphia, have won them over by honoring Wrexham’s traditions and ensuring that the town’s identity has not been significantly altered.

Darren Jackson, who was born and raised in Wrexham, described this as “world class” and “fantastic.” They’ve executed the plan in the most effective manner. Even though it’s the same club, everything about it looks amazing.”
