‘We’re back’, says Mueller after Bayern return to league summit

'we're back', says mueller after bayern return to league summit0Bayern Munich captain Thomas Mueller said his side would win the Bundesliga title this season, after a 2-0 win over bottom club Hertha Berlin on Sunday sent them top of the table.

Late goals from Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman gave the Bavarians all three points, and they currently lead Borussia Dortmund by one point with four games left to play.

On Friday, Dortmund were held to a draw by lowly Bochum, and as a result, the fight for the championship is now in the hands of Bayern.

“We’ll get that thing (trophy) again, you can write that,” said Mueller, who came in as a second-half replacement. “You can write that.”

“Here we are again!”

Thomas Tuchel, who was hired to coach Bayern after Julian Nagelsmann was let go in late March, has led the team to only three victories in eight matches since taking over for Nagelsmann.

The club is no longer eligible to compete in either the German Cup or the Champions League after been eliminated from both competitions.

“It wasn’t a spectacular win, but it was a deserved win,” Tuchel remarked of his team’s victory.

“With 34 games in a season, you’re going to get a few of those, and today was one of them,” the commentator said.

DAZN was informed by Tuchel. The players of Bayern got into a “extra emotional conversation” about turning the season around throughout the course of the week.

“We need every single item. There are times when you need a little bit of fire, and this week we had that…

When April rolls around and a new manager is hired, it’s not like things magically start running more efficiently.

In the last two weeks of the season, Bayern will play both of their remaining matches at home. One of those matches will be against RB Leipzig, the current holders of the German Cup, who are currently in fifth position.

Three of Dortmund’s last four matches will be played at their stadium, where they have posted the best home record of any team in the Bundesliga this year.

Sadio Mane, who has been struggling recently, had an opportunity to score a header against Hertha but missed it. Tuchel is certain that Mane would be able to reproduce his Premier League form while playing for Bayern.

“That was a classic Sadio situation; he’s strong with his head, and he usually scores those; however, at this point in time, that’s not the case.”

Because he has been successful in scoring goals in the toughest league in the world, I will never stop having faith in him.
