As the reigning Premier League winners prepare for the pinnacle of their quest for the triple, Ilkay Gundogan has advised Manchester City to maintain their concentration.

On Saturday, City won the English championship for the sixth time in the last six seasons after second-place Arsenal suffered a defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

On Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s squad celebrated their league championship by defeating Chelsea by a score of 1-0, and captain Gundogan was the one to hoist the trophy.

After claiming their third championship in a row, City can now concentrate on trying to emulate the Manchester United club from the 1998-1999 season, who won the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup all in the same season.

But before that, City has to end their league season with away games against Brighton and Brentford on the subsequent Wednesday and Sunday.

City are undefeated in their previous 24 games and German midfielder Gundogan is concerned about losing their momentum. City have won their past 12 league matches in a row.

“We haven’t lost any games in so many weeks, and that’s the standard that we have to set for ourselves,” he added. “We haven’t lost any games in so many weeks.”

“We do nothing different; we continue doing the same things that we’ve been doing over the past few weeks, and we’re crossing our fingers that the end of the season can be a truly memorable one.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the club or to be a member of such an incredible squad. It should come as no surprise that our ultimate goal for the season is to bring home two more trophies.

We still have two more important finals, and the last two games of the Premier League season will serve as preparation for those. We want to make sure that nothing gets lost. It would mean the world to me to be able to hoist two more trophies.

The last two games in City’s pursuit of the triple are the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley on June 3 and the Champions League final against Inter Milan in Istanbul seven days later.

Kevin De Bruyne, a Belgium midfielder who, like Ilkay Gundogan, is now a five-time champion of the Premier League, is optimistic that Manchester City can accomplish something “special” towards the end of their most recent successful season.

“We enjoy winning, and the thrill of victory never gets old for us. “Although we have had a lot of success in the past, we want to continue to have success,” De Bruyne remarked.

“We keep on working. We look forward to the matches against Brighton and Brentford, and we continue to prepare for United and Inter in the hopes of doing something truly remarkable.

“Everyone is interested in it. We are aware that we must win two games, but we also know that these games will be challenging. Because of this, we need to make sure that we have prepared ourselves as well as we can, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be successful.
