The 48th Copa America, involving 10 South American nations and six North American sides, will be hosted in 14 locations across ten US states next year, organisers announced on Monday.

CONMEBOL, the South American governing body, had already confirmed that the first game would be staged on June 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with the final on July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

CONMEBOL said on Monday that quarter-final matches will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, NRG Stadium in Houston, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina will host the semi-finals.

Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, and Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City are among the other locations.

From June 20 to July 2, there will be group play. The quarter-finals will be held on July 4-6, the semi-finals on July 9 and 10, and the final on July 13.

“According to the dynamics of the competition, two groups will play in the west and centre of the country, and two groups in the east and centre,” the organisation stated in a statement. “The competition will move in an easterly direction, the quarter-finals will be played in the west and centre, while the semi-final and final will take place in the east.”

The event, which is generally hosted in South America, will act as a warm-up for the United States ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which it will co-host with Mexico and Canada.

“The passion of football will run through this great country from east to west and north to south, bringing excitement and fun to hundreds of thousands of fans at the venues and millions of spectators around the world,” Alejandro Dominguez, president of CONMEBOL and FIFA vice president, predicted.

The draw for the competition, in which Argentina will defend their title, will take place on Thursday.
