UEFA announced on Wednesday that AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho has been suspended for the club’s next four Europa League matches after using profane language toward referee Anthony Taylor.

The club has also been fined.

Mourinho’s criticism of the officiating after Roma’s defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final resulted in Taylor and his family being accosted at Budapest Airport by supporters of the Italian club.

Roma were fined a total of 55,000 euros ($63,464) and prohibited from selling tickets to their away fans for their next match for “setting off fireworks, throwing objects, acts of vandalism, and crowd disturbances” and “improper team conduct” during the final.

Additionally, the Italian club was ordered to reach out to the Hungarian Football Federation within thirty days to resolve the damages caused by fans in the stadium.

Roma finished sixth in Serie A to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

Following their Europa Conference League final victory over Fiorentina, West Ham United’s fans flung objects onto the field and invaded the playing area, resulting in a fine of 58,000 euros.

As he prepared to take a corner kick during the match in Prague, the captain of the Italian club, Cristiano Biraghi, was struck on the head by an object, requiring medical attention as blood flowed down his neck.

After winning the final, West Ham will compete in the Europa League the following season.

For hurling objects during their semi-final match against Bayer Leverkusen, Roma was fined a total of 80,500 euros and required to partially close their stadium (6,000 seats).

Due to the igniting of pyrotechnics and hurling of objects, the German club was penalized a total of 43,000 euros and ordered to close a portion of its stadium (5,000 seats).

For comparable violations, Fiorentina and FC Basel were also fined and prohibited from selling tickets to opposing fans for their next match.
