Trott laments bowling effort0

Jonathan Trott, the head coach of Afghanistan, expressed his disappointment with his team’s sloppy bowling performance, which put Bangladesh in the driver’s seat at the conclusion of the first day of the one-off test that was played in Mirpur yesterday.

One of the no balls that was bowled by Nijat Masood to Najmul Hossain Shanto while he was on 143 was the one that allowed Najmul Hossain Shanto to complete his century. Afghanistan’s bowlers handed up far too many extras, including 15 no balls.

I don’t believe we bowled as well as we could have or as well as we should have. I have a feeling that there is something in the wicket. We were able to see that opportunities presented themselves to us when we maintained possession of the ball in the appropriate places for a sufficient amount of time. All of the things that we need to accomplish in order to be successful in test cricket are to be persistent in our efforts and exact and precise in our play. Tomorrow, we need to do much better. Trott said at a news conference held after the day that “it was a good lesson for the guys.”

On Day 2, the Englishman, on the other hand, planned to try to turn things around and put more pressure on the people who were hosting.

“Take five wickets while allowing 10 runs, and then score 500 points.” It would be great (to have them knocked out of bowling before lunchtime). In the next over, we will be using a brand new ball. Then, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Nijat and the seamers can bowl effectively tomorrow. “Today was a good day for the guys to learn about the extreme heat,” stated Trott.
