Mahfuza Akter Kiran, the women’s wing chairperson of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), made the announcement on Wednesday that Saiful Bari Titu would be taking over as head coach of the Bangladesh Women’s national football team in preparation for the Asian Games in September.
The longtime coach Golam Rabbani Choton announced his resignation in late May, claiming personal reasons, and this hiring comes as a result of his departure. Early in the month of July, BFF acknowledged and accepted his resignation letter.
As a result of Kiran’s statement that the federation is looking to hire a foreign coach from Japan or South Korea, Titu has been appointed to serve as the temporary coach till the Asian Games.
“Today we called on Saiful Bari Titu and appointed him as the head coach of the national women’s team for the Asian Games,” Kiran said. “We are very excited about his appointment.”
“We have been going through a difficult phase for a considerable amount of time without a head coach. She went on to say that “Paul [Smalley] also quit his job, but we have two important competitions coming up in September: the Asian Games for the senior team, and the AFC U-17 Women’s Championship for the women’s football team.”
In terms of the Under-17 Women’s team that will be competing in the AFC Championship, Mahabubur Rahman Litu will be serving as the team’s head coach. Kiran added.
Kiran stated that the federation has been looking for a permanent coach for the women’s team from either Japan or Korea. She expressed hope that they will be able to finalize an appointment after they have received the profiles of the probable candidates.
Titu, who has previous experience working with the men’s national team, stated that he views his new job as a challenge because this will be the first time he has worked with the women’s squad.
AFC A licensed coach Titu was quoted as saying, “Today BFF president Kazi Salahuddin bhai called on to take the responsibility of the national women’s team for the Asian Games and I agreed to take over even though the contract details are expected to be finalized within a couple of days.”
“I had conducted an AFC C license course for the women, in which the participants like Sabina, and Mirona participated, and that was my lone involvement with the women’s footballers,” said Titu. “That was my sole involvement with the women’s footballers.” “I think that the Women’s football team have been in a structure as Choton and Paul worked with them for a long time.”
When it comes to coaching, there is no difference between the men’s squad and the women’s team; nonetheless, I believe that the women are more disciplined and hard-working than the men. As soon as I begin to collaborate with them, I will have a better idea of the areas in which I need to improve.
