Tigers at risk of rare home whitewash

Tigers at risk of rare home whitewash0

In today’s third and final ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh will try to avoid getting swept by Afghanistan.

The Tigers have already lost the series. They lost by 17 runs (DLS Method) in the first ODI and by 142 runs in the second. This is only the third ODI home series that they have lost in 2016.

Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh 3-0 at home in 2014, which was the last time they were whitewashed at home.

The hosts will hope to brush away the hitting woes that have pulled them back in both previous matches as the hitters have struggled to face Fazalhaq Farooqi, and failed to get a read on Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan.

In terms of batting, the Tigers will try to get back on track because Afghan starters Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran beat them badly in the second match.

With everything going for them, Afghanistan will feel more at ease going into the game, while the Tigers will be worried about their home record of being swept.
