Three cricket players from Bangladesh registered for the 13th round of the Big Bash T20 League player draft, which will start on December 7.

Taijul Islam, a left-arm spinner, Ripon Mondol, a youthful pacer, and Jahanara Alam, a pacer for the women’s squad, all entered their names for the player draft for the franchise league.

376 male cricketers from 29 different nations were named by Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday for the men’s draft, while 122 female cricketers were named for the women’s selection. On Sunday, players will be chosen for both the men’s and women’s Big Bashs.

Along with pacers Al Amin Hossain and Shafiul Islam, Ripon, who has only been in two T20 games, filed for the last draft as well, but no clubs shown interest in selecting any of them.

On the other side, Taijul amassed 76 wickets in 93 T20 matches but has not yet played in a foreign franchise league. Jahanara, however, has played in the Women’s T20 Challenge Velocity in India in 2020 in addition to being a regular in the Fairbreak Invitational T20 League in Hong Kong.

The only player from Bangladesh to date to compete in the Big Bash League, Shakib Al Hasan played in two games for the Adelaide Strikers in 2014 and four for the Melbourne Renegades in 2015.

The next Big Bash will take place from December 7 to January 24 of the following year. The Bangladesh Premier League is likewise anticipated to run from January 6 to February 17 of the following year.
