In the second one-day international of the three-match series, which took place on Friday in Chelmsford, Ireland batter Harry Tector achieved his ninth half-century in one-day internationals to help Ireland recover from a difficult powerplay and lift Ireland’s total to 91 at the conclusion of the 20th over.
After the completion of the powerplay, the home team was two runs short for 30, but Andre Balbirnie, who was captaining the team, and Tector put together a 75-run partnership, with Balbirnie remaining unbeaten on 25.
Tector reached his fifty runs off of 53 balls after hitting four sixes and two fours throughout his innings.
