Taskin Ahmed, a right-arm fast for Bangladesh, was included in the team for the last one-day international of the series against New Zealand; however, it is possible that the right-arm quick will not be able to play since he has food sickness.
Taskin was not present for practice today along with the bulk of the other players in the team for the third One-Day International. This was due to the fact that he had been given a break and is still being monitored by medical staff.
“Taskin does not seem to have any injuries, but he does appear to be suffering from food sickness. I have the impression that he will get better, but if it becomes worse, he could get exhausted. He has been allowed to relax, and he has been given instructions to take his meds. Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, the head physician for the BCB, confirmed to The Daily Star today that the diagnosis of “under observation” was given to the patient.
In addition, the fitness of pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib is being monitored by Bangladesh at this time. The right-arm paceman faced New Zealand in the opening game of the series before he was taken out of the match because of physical soreness. At today’s practice at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, the pacemaker participated in a running workout.
“Tanzim Sakib’s injury is not significant nor of a sort that is life-threatening. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will recover quickly. He complained of muscle soreness in the hip area of his right leg. Today, we put him through a session of jogging to test his response, and he did quite well. “He is not experiencing a great deal of pain at this time,” Debashish shared the information.
After suffering a defeat by 86 runs in the second one-day international (ODI), Bangladesh made several changes to their team. Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das were both given some break, while Soumya Sarkar was left out of the team. In preparation for the last one-day international, the team was expanded to include Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin, and Shoriful Islam.
