The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made more changes to the team for the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against New Zealand on Tuesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. They kept bowler Khaled Ahmed in the squad after the second ODI, but they also brought in Afif Hossain, who has been out of form recently.

The fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who had been rested for the first two one-day internationals and then added to the team for the third ODI, did not play because he became unwell. Because of this, the BCB decided to recall Khaled Ahmed, who made his One-Day International (ODI) debut in the second match and took three wickets while allowing 60 runs.

After a terrible run with the bat in the Asia Cup, Afif was taken out of the lineup and played his last match against Pakistan in the Super Four stage of the competition. In that game, he scored 12 runs off 11 balls.

According to BCB selector Habibul Bashar Sumon, who spoke to The Daily Star, Afif was selected in the squad as a cover for Mehedi Hasan Mairaz, who felt soreness on his hamstring during Monday’s practice session.

SQUAD: Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Zakir Hasan, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Tawhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Rishad Hossain, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Afif Hossain.
