Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Taskin Ahmed departed Bangladesh on Tuesday night in order to fulfill their obligations in various franchise competitions.
Shakib Al Hasan is the captain of Bangladesh’s Test and Twenty20 International teams, while Taskin Ahmed is a fast bowler.
At the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, the three Bangladeshi footballers checked in for their aircraft that would take them to Dubai. While Taskin and Mushfiqur will go to Zimbabwe to compete in the Zim-Afro T10 League, Shakib will first travel to the United States before joining the Montreal Tigers. The Montreal Tigers selected Shakib as an icon player for the third edition of the Global T20 League, which will be held in Canada. Taskin and Mushfiqur will depart from Dubai.
Mushfiqur and Taskin were both planning on departing for Zimbabwe on Monday, but they were had to stay an extra day in order for their visas to be finalized.
Taskin, who will play for Bulawayo Braves in the Zim-Afro T10 League, contributed to Bangladesh’s dominance in the Twenty20 International series by taking two wickets against Afghanistan on Sunday. The result was a 2-0 victory for Bangladesh.
On the other side, the Joburg Buffaloes were the ones who immediately signed Mushfiqur. The only two cricketers from Bangladesh to compete in the league are Taskin and Mushfiqur.
Before the conclusion of the two-match Twenty20 International series that Bangladesh played against Afghanistan in Sylhet, Taskin and Shakib hitched a ride on Afghanistan star Rashid Khan’s chartered jet immediately after the last game on Sunday. The series was won by Bangladesh with a score of 2-0. Rashid was meant to take a trip to the United States in order to take part in the Major League Cricket (MLC), and his team, MI New York, was going to send a chartered airplane in order to transport the cricketer to the United States.
Liton Das will also be participating in the Global T20 League in Canada, where Shakib will also be playing. The right-handed opener had already departed the nation on Tuesday in preparation for the tournament.
As of right now, the Tigers do not have any matches planned in international competition; however, their next assignment is the Asia Cup, which will begin on September 5.
