At the end of today’s match versus Rajshahi Division, which took place at the Sylhet Academy Ground in Sylhet, Chattogram Division successfully completed the 55-run target in a short amount of time. Parvez Hossain Emon and Shykat Ali remained undefeated on 27 and 28 respectively.
Bowlers Ifran Hossain and Nayeem Hasan ran through Rajshahi Division earlier on day three, grabbing nine wickets between them to bowl them out for just 182 runs.
At the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna, the tier 1 match between Sylhet Division and Rangpur Division was won by Sylhet Division by an innings and 26 runs.
Rangpur, who were asked to follow on after finishing the third day of the match on 166 for seven, needed 90 runs to avoid losing by an innings but were bowled out for 230 runs in their second innings. Both Abu Jayed Rahi and Khaled Ahmed were quite productive for Sylhet with the ball, finishing the match with seven and six wickets, respectively. During the course of the match, Rahi achieved the remarkable milestone of 300 first-class wickets.
The tier 1 match between Dhaka Division and Dhaka Metro at Cox’s Bazar eventually got underway on day four. Having won the toss, Dhaka Division batted first and declared at 133 for 1, with Rony Talukdar hitting 77 runs off 59 balls with 11 fours and two sixes, and Abdul Mazid making 55 runs. Dhaka Metro won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Dhaka Metro reached 49 for four before the end of the match, which resulted in a draw between the two teams.
Earlier on Saturday, the Barishal Division won their first game with a seven-wicket triumph over the Khulna Division in the tier 2 encounter. Khulna Division was the division that was on top of the standings.
