Pacer Mitchell Starc of Australia is considering a 2024 comeback to the Indian Premier League, having missed the lucrative Twenty20 competition for eight years.
The left-armer hasn’t participated in the IPL in recent years in order to reduce his playing burden and concentrate on his national team obligations. He last appeared for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2015 season.
T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies, according to Starc, would be well-prepared for by playing in the IPL.
“Look, eight years have passed. To the ‘Willow Talk’ podcast, the 33-year-old said, “I’m definitely going back in (next) year.”
In addition, it’s a fantastic build-up to the T20 World Cup.
“I think it’s a perfect opportunity to put my name in, especially since next year’s winter will be somewhat quieter than this one.”
While the Australian squad prepares for the 50-overs World Cup with a one-day series in South Africa, Starc is presently out with a groin issue.
He gets included in Australia’s preliminary 15-man roster for the event in India that takes place the following month.
