Six england world cup players retained for caribbean tour0

The cricket board (ECB) announced on Sunday that six players from England’s 50-over World Cup team will play in the One-Day International against the West Indies. Josh Tongue and John Turner, two seamers who have never played before, have also been called up for the ODIs and Twenty20s.

The Caribbean tour will be led by Jos Buttler. Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone will all be in the ODI group from the main event.

Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Mark Wood, and Chris Woakes all missed out on an ODI spot. Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, and Adil Rashid were also not picked.

The all-rounder and test captain said earlier this month that Stokes will have surgery on a knee that is giving him trouble after the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Willey quit during England’s terrible run of form. He was the only member of the ODI team who wasn’t offered a core deal last month.

ECB named the 15-player ODI and 16-player T20 team just hours after England’s disappointing World Cup loss to Pakistan and their win over Pakistan made things better.

England’s title defence is over after losing six of their first seven games. They will now focus on the West Indies for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) from December 3–9 and five Twenty20s from December 12–21.

The England team for ODIs is:

Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Ollie Pope, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, and John Turner are the players who made up the team. Jos Buttler was the captain.

English team for T20s:

Moeen Ali, Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, Reece Topley, John Turner, and Chris Woakes are the players who made up the team. Jos Buttler was the captain.
