As a reward for her impressive performance in the Women’s Domestic Premier League (WDPL), batter Shathi Rani was selected to be a part of the 16-person team for the forthcoming Twenty20 International series against India.
Along with Marufa Akter and Dilara Akter, the all-arounder Salma Khatun also rejoined the squad.
The Shathi’s Rupali Bank Krira Parishad opener helped the team win the WPDL by hitting a total of 254 runs over the course of six innings with an average of 50.80 and a strike-rate of 151.19. In addition, she was selected for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup team as a result of her efforts.
However, Fargana Hoque, Lata Mondol, Jahanara Alam, and Fariha Trisna were not selected to play despite having participated in the most recent series against Sri Lanka. Even though both Jahanara and Rumana tried out for the team, neither one was selected for the preliminary roster.
The first Twenty20 International match of the series will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on July 9.
The standby players are going to be Fargana Hoque, Lata Mondol, Sharmin Akter, and Fariha Trisna.
