Shakib ordinary as galle titans suffer fourth defeat0

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh’s best all-around player, couldn’t do much with the bat or the ball on Friday, when his Lanka Premier League team, the Galle Titans, lost to the Dambulla Aura by seven wickets in Colombo.

On the same day that Shakib was named captain of Bangladesh’s ODI team for the upcoming Asia Cup at the end of this month and the World Cup in India later this year, the all-rounder gave an average performance on the field. He is now the leader of all three forms of the Tigers.

Shakib gave Galle Titans a low score of 133 for 9 with 13 runs per ball. In four overs, he took one wicket and gave up 20 runs. Even though they didn’t waste much time with the ball, Dambulla Aura easily reached their goal with 14 balls to spare thanks to Avishka Fernando’s perfect 70.

This was Galle Titans’ fourth loss in six games. With just two wins, they are sad and at the bottom of the five-team table.
