Bangladesh cricket had a rough month in July. Their ODI team lost back-to-back games to Afghanistan in Chattogram, and their ODI captain, Tamim Iqbal, shocked everyone by announcing his retirement before settling for a six-week break.
In the important second ODI, it was clear that the Tigers were shaken, but they came back in the last game of the series to get a mercy win.
The win, on the other hand, gave the Tigers a much-needed boost of confidence. Now, Shakib Al Hasan will lead the team in a two-match T20I series against the same team, this time in Sylhet.
Shakib brushed off questions about the dressing room at the press meeting before tomorrow’s first T20I.
Shakib told reporters in Sylhet on Thursday, “You see, a lot of things may look different from the outside, but I don’t think we were ever worried in the locker room.”
“I think the world is still in good shape. Obviously, the results could change how you feel about how clean the changing room is. I don’t think that whether we win or lose changes the mood in the locker room.
“As players, we always think about how we can get better and how we can help the team.”
