In the 25th edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), which took place on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka opener Rony Talukdar shone by scoring his 11th first-class century, which contributed to his team’s victory over Rangpur by 23 runs.

The competition, which had little points, was only three days long. After setting Rangpur a goal of 151 runs, Dhaka bowled them out for 128 in response.
After being given the opportunity to bat first, Dhaka were bowled out for 166. Rony hit 19 fours on his way to an unbeaten 102 off 112 balls, and he was one of just three hitters for Dhaka to reach the century mark.

Nobin Islam, who plays for Rangpur, was awarded a five-wicket haul despite allowing 28 runs to be scored off of his 10.4 overs.

As a result of their captain Ariful Haque’s 58-run knock, Rangpur was able to post 238 and take a lead of 72 runs in the match. Salauddin Shakil, a left-arm bowler for Dhaka, took four wickets while conceding 41 runs, which helped Dhaka cut down Rangpur’s lead.

In Dhaka’s second innings, hitter Taibur Rahman saved the day with a knock of 66 runs, which allowed them to recover from being five wickets down for 95. Dhaka was bowled out for a total of 223 and Rangpur was given a goal of 151 runs to reach. Taibur scored the most runs, but Rony also managed to contribute with 39 runs at the top of the order.

Asadullah Hill Galib of Rangpur impressed with a five-wicket haul, dismissing the first five Dhaka batters, to help restrict Dhaka and allow his side a manageable total. However, Rangpur was bundled out for 128, courtesy of Dhaka’s pacers Shakil (3), Sumon Khan (2), and Anamul Haque (4), who picked up nine wickets between them. Rangpur’s total was restricted to 128.

Nihad Uz Zaman of Rangpur scored 56 runs throughout the match, but his efforts were in vain because he was unable to lead his team to victory.
