Roma to face familiar foes in last 320

After being drawn together in the knockout round play-offs on Monday, last season’s Europa League runners-up Roma will face Feyenoord for the third time in a row.

Jose Mourinho’s side defeated Feyenoord in the final of the inaugural Europa Conference League in Tirana in 2022, and then advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League last season before losing on penalties to Sevilla.

The teams that finished third in their Champions League groups face battle against the runners-up from the Europa League group stage in the knockout round play-offs.

The winners will advance to the last 16, where they will join the winners of the eight groups.

Feyenoord, the reigning Dutch champions, were eliminated from the Champions League after finishing third in their group behind Atletico Madrid and Lazio.

AC Milan were drawn against French club Rennes after finishing third in their Champions League group behind Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain and ahead of Newcastle United.

Shakhtar Donetsk, the UEFA Cup champion in 2009, will face Marseille, the Europa League runners-up in 2018.

The matches will take place in February, followed by the final 16 in March, which will include three Premier League clubs: Liverpool, West Ham United, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rangers, Atalanta, Villarreal, Slavia Prague, and Bayer Leverkusen have already qualified for the knockout stages.

The Europa League final for this season will be held on May 22 in Dublin.
