Rodri, who plays for Manchester City, claims that he is playing the best soccer of his career as the Premier League winners prepare to take on Inter Milan in the winners League final on Saturday. Inter Milan is Manchester City’s opponent in the match.
The Spanish midfielder, who is 26 years old, and his teammates have a chance to reach sporting immortality against Inter in Istanbul. If they win, City would become European champions for the very first time and match their fiercest rivals Manchester United’s 1998–1999 treble.
Rodri moved to City in 2019 from Atletico Madrid in a transaction estimated to be worth about 50 million pounds ($62.1 million). Since then, he has won three trophies in the Premier League.
Rodri told reporters that he is “in the best moment” physically, intellectually, and in the manner that he understands the game after his team won the FA Cup final against Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
“I have made an effort to develop and educate myself. This is my fourth year, and throughout that time I’ve gained a lot of experience and knowledge. I feel more adult.
“But you have to come out on top. Being a part of a successful team is more important than simply having a strong individual performance.
Rodri stated that City had “tried to learn a lot from the past” after getting closer to European glory in recent seasons. This is in response to the fact that City have come closer to winning European competition.
City competed in the final of the Champions League in the season 2020-21, which took place in Porto. However, they were defeated by Chelsea by a score of 1-0.
However, after capturing their fifth Premier League title in the previous six seasons and becoming the favorites to defeat Inter last month, City are now the team to beat.
“Pep said you will not be ‘huge, big’ if you don’t win in Europe. It’s the test that we have to do well on once more,” Rodri said.
“This is again another critical match, and we are prepared. I’m going to encourage the boys to play like themselves, have confidence in what we’re doing, give it our all, and compete for the championship.
