Robson Robinho scored his 50th goal in the Bangladesh Premier League as Bashundhara Kings defeated Sheikh Jamal DC 3-0 at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj today.

Captain Robinho scored his team’s third goal after Dorielton Gomes scored twice, bringing the reigning champions’ total to 12 points from four matches in the 10-team league.

“I am overjoyed to have scored 50 goals for the club, and I would like to thank the coaching staff and the club’s administration for their assistance. This year, I’m here to support the club and fight for the club, and we’ll always be together,” Robinho stated in his post-match statement after scoring his third goal in four matches.

The Brazilian scored 21 goals in his debut season in Dhaka, followed by 20 and 18 goals in the next two seasons.

The Brazilian striker increased Kings’ lead two minutes into second-half stoppage time with a chip over the opposing goalie after being set up by Miguel Ferreira, and Robson sealed the match with a free kick in stoppage time.

Fortis grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute with to a header from Jasur Jumayev, but it lasted just nine minutes as Dawda Ceesay equalised for Rahmatganj with an eye-catching side volley.

Ernest Boateng gave Rahmatganj the lead in the 72nd minute by scoring a penalty kick, but Fortis responded 10 minutes later with Pa Omar Babou converting from the spot.
