Psg 'best club for mbappe', says al-khelaifi0

Kylian Mbappe’s father, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, said on Tuesday that PSG is “the best club for him” and expressed his desire for Mbappe to remain in the French city.

At the end of June, Mbappe’s contract with the Ligue 1 winners expires, and he is free to negotiate a deal to play for a another team the following season.

“I want Kylian to stay, and I’m not going to hide that,” Al-Khelaifi said to broadcaster RMC.

“The best player in the world is Kylian and the best club for him is Paris.”

Since their Qatari owners took over in 2011, PSG has spent billions of euros on transfer fees, yet they have yet to win a Champions League championship.

Mbappe has been strongly linked to a potential transfer to Real Madrid, the 14-time champions of Europe.

“He has the best training centre in the world, the best coach in the world (Luis Enrique),” said Al-Khelaifi.

“Every year he’s sure of playing in the Champions League, we’re in the last 16 at least, quarter-finals, even semi-finals or final, we’re there with the big clubs.”

In an effort to facilitate a transfer away from PSG, Mbappe has renounced incentives totaling “several tens of millions” of euros, a source close to the player’s contract discussions told AFP last week.

According to Le Parisien, Mbappe signed a contract extension in 2022 that guaranteed him a salary of 72 million euros ($78.7 million) year, a 150 million euro signing bonus, and a loyalty incentive that increased from 70 million euros in the first year to 90 million euros in the third.

However, Al-Khelaifi emphasized that it “is not a question of money” whether Mbappe remains or leaves.

“We have a lot of very important matches, I ask for you to leave Kylian alone, leave him alone.”

This season, Mbappe has scored 24 goals for Ligue 1 leaders PSG in all competitions.
