Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea, acknowledged the difficulties that Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Raheem Sterling had during the previous campaign and stated that he will assist the three players in reaching their full potential with the assistance of a specialized training regimen.

After a turbulent season at Stamford Bridge that saw Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard serve as interim managers for Chelsea, the club made the decision in May to employ Maurizio Sarri, a 51-year-old former manager of Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain. Sarri was in charge of both clubs throughout his managerial career.

Pochettino outlined his expectations for the club ahead of the pre-season by telling Chelsea’s website that “different players arrived in different circumstances but of course now is an opportunity.” He was speaking about the upcoming pre-season.

On July 19, Chelsea will play the National League winners, Wrexham, in their first preseason match in the United States. This match will serve as Chelsea’s first game in preparation for the next season.

“I hope we can help them to achieve their best level, a higher level, and try to perform for Chelsea in the way that people expect,” he added. “I hope we can help them to achieve their best level, a higher level.”

Now is the time for a new beginning, a clean slate, and I believe that they should demonstrate the true caliber of their work. However, in order for them to perform at their best and make progress, we need to provide them with a stage where they can relax and plenty room to grow.

After a demanding schedule, Pochettino noted that former Benfica midfielder Fernandez, who was crowned the best teenager at the World Cup in 2014 after helping Argentina win the title, required relaxation. Fernandez was awarded the best youngster at the World Cup in 2014.

“The Premier League is a really tough competition, and he changes everything – culture, language, everything,” Mauricio Pochettino remarked. “It is always difficult to adapt,” Pochettino added.

Pochettino went on to say that Mudryk’s “mindset and everything is different” from Fernandez’s, which is why he plans to spend more time working with the 22-year-old Ukrainian winger. Fernandez’s position requires a player with a more defensive mentality.

Sterling, who is now 28 years old and one of the more experienced players in the team, has not yet been able to recreate the performances that made him such an important part of Manchester City, where he won 10 major trophies. During his time with Chelsea, Sterling scored only nine goals in a total of 38 appearances for the club.

It’s not always fair to point the finger at the player… We need to meet with them in order to determine what is going on and why they are not performing to the level that we anticipate, and once we have this information, there is no way that we can make excuses for them when it comes to their lack of performance. Pochettino added.
