In the final match of the ACC Men’s Emerging Cup, which took place on Sunday in Colombo, Pakistan A prevailed against India A by a score of 128 runs, allowing them to successfully defend their championship.
In the 50-over match, Pakistan posted a gigantic score of 352 for eight thanks to centuries scored by Tayyab Tahir and Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, all of whom opened the batting for their teams. India A was only able to score 224 in 40 overs.
The opening pair of Ayub (59 off 51 balls) and Farhan (65 off 62 balls) got Pakistan off to a good start by putting up an opening partnership that scored 121 runs. Then it was the 29-year-old Tayyab who took control of the game and dominated it by hitting a fast 108 off just 71 balls to lead Pakistan to a massive total. His innings included 12 boundaries and four maximums.
Although opener Abhishek Sharma scored 61 runs off 51 balls, India A was never in a position where they seemed in control of the chase and ultimately failed.
