No quick fix for Chelsea, says Lampard

No quick fix for chelsea, says lampard0

On Tuesday, Frank Lampard made history by becoming the first English manager in more than three decades to suffer a losing streak of ten consecutive matches while in command of a top-flight club when his Chelsea team was defeated 3-1 by Arsenal.

The all-time leader in goals scored for Chelsea has failed to win a single one of his six matches since returning to the club to take over as temporary manager following Graham Potter’s dismissal.

As a result of his losing his most recent four games in command of Everton, he has now matched the losing streak that Arthur Cox experienced while he was the manager of Derby County in 1988, despite the fact that they are two different teams.

Lampard could not have foreseen such a run when he returned to Stamford Bridge for a second term in control after being fired in January 2021. He had been in charge of the club at that time. On the sidelines, he appeared shocked as Arsenal capitalized on Chelsea’s lackluster defense to take a 3-0 lead with 34 minutes remaining in the match.

Even if the second half was slightly better than the first, Lampard laid out the magnitude of the challenge that awaits whomever becomes Chelsea’s next permanent manager in his post-match analysis.

He continued, “Based on what this season has taught you, from the beginning to the end, we need to find the reasons as quickly as possible.”

“It’s not something that can be fixed in a day. The primary response is simple. First, we need to improve how we perform the fundamentals, and only then will we see any development. It is not difficult to have compassion for Lampard, who is 44 years old and has now won only one of the previous 20 games he has managed as a manager.

There are too many players on Chelsea’s expensively built roster who are not performing up to their potential, and supporters are publicly questioning the dedication of some of the players, which is a point that Lampard has denied.

Believe me, the athletes really do care. that’s possible that Chelsea supporters assume that the players don’t care, but I don’t buy that,” he said.

“The players want to do well, but they have to grasp what it means each and every day, starting with training on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. How you get ready for things and how you look after yourself.

“There may be a lot of reasons, and some of them are really valid – players coming into the Premier League into a squad that is having a tough period, it is not easy, this is the most challenging league in the world.

“However, there are some things that are fundamental, and we need to make improvements to them.”
