New Zealand got over their shocking loss to the United Arab Emirates by beating them by 32 runs in the third and final T20 on Sunday in Dubai to win the series.
The UAE won by seven wickets on Saturday, which was their first win over New Zealand in any event. However, the hosts fell to 53-5 in the final as they tried to reach 167.
The 17-year-old Aayan Afzal Khan did a great job with the ball in the second match. He scored 42 runs off of 36 balls, but the run rate was too high for the UAE to keep up with.
Ben Lister, a left-handed medium-speed bowler, got 3-35, including the wickets of captain Muhammad Waseem and Aayan. He also ran out Aayan, and the UAE scored only 134-7, which was far below their potential.
Will Young scored 56, and Mark Chapman scored 51, giving New Zealand a total of 166-5 when they were given the chance to bat.
Seamer Junaid Siddique got rid of Young and Chapman after he had already gotten rid of Tim Seifert, the team’s first batter. He ended up with 3-26, making him the best of the UAE bowlers.
