Former English internationals Ian Bell and James Foster will assist in coaching the Black Caps during their upcoming white-ball tour of England, according to New Zealand Cricket on Wednesday.

The two England players will strengthen the backroom personnel for New Zealand, according to performance manager Simon Insley.

Since his retirement, Ian Bell has had a wide variety of experiences as a hitting instructor, according to Insley. “James Foster has had extensive coaching experience and has worked with a number of our Black Caps.”

2020 saw Bell end his cricket career after 118 England Tests. He participated in five successful Ashes campaigns against Australia.

In addition to serving as the team’s assistance coach for New Zealand’s four Twenty20 matches in England, Bell will also serve as the batting coach for the team’s three ODIs in Bangladesh and the four-game one-day series against England that will begin next month.

Foster, a former wicketkeeper for England who played seven Test matches, will join Bell in the New Zealand camp.

Foster will serve as the Black Caps’ assistant coach for the ODI series against England and the next 50-over World Cup in India.

Stephen Fleming, a former star of New Zealand’s batting, will help the Black Caps team during the England ODI series.

With two further Tests slated in Bangladesh after the World Cup, Insley said that the backroom adjustments would divide the strain.

He said, “We’re thrilled with the caliber of coaches we’ve been able to confirm to help the Black Caps.

According to New Zealand Cricket, head coach Gary Stead will be rested for the two Test matches the team will play in Bangladesh in December.

Former Pakistani coach Saqlain Mushtaq will assist as the spin coach under the direction of batting coach Luke Ronchi.
