After yesterday’s 21-run DLS victory at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, the Bangladesh Emerging Team and the Sri Lanka Emerging Side are tied in the three-game ODI series.
Batting first, Sri Lanka reached 297 for seven thanks to scores of 77 and 62 from captain Ahan Wickramasinghe and Sonal Dinusha, respectively. Bangladesh’s Musfik Hasan took 3 for 56 with his wickets.
Parvez Hossain Emon, who scored 35 off of 28 balls, and Prantik Nawrose put up 62 runs to steady the Tigers’ innings after they lost Amite Hasan for zero in the first over.
After an unbroken 130-run stand between Nawrose (92 not out, 9 fours, 1 six) and captain Mahmudul Hasan Joy (57 not out, 36 overs), play was called off due to rain. After 36 overs, the Bangladesh Emerging Team was so far ahead of the DLS objective that the game was called a victory by the DLS system since it was impossible to continue playing.
The final one-day match of the series will be held on October 22 at the same location.
