The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Sunday that the promising bowler Mushfik Hasan and the middle-order batsman Shahadat Hossain Dipu have been nominated to the 15-member Bangladesh team for the one-off Test match against Afghanistan to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium beginning on June 14.
In the absence of regular captain Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das is going to lead the side for the very first time in the red-ball version of the game.
The 10th of June is the arrival date for Afghanistan.
Dipu, now 21 years old, made his first-class debut in 2021. In the 20 first-class matches he has participated in, he has scored a total of 1265 runs, including two centuries and ten half-centuries.
After making his first-class debut in the 2022 campaign, Mushfik quickly rose to prominence in the sport. The fast bowler, who is only 20 years old, has taken 49 wickets in 13 matches, including three hauls of five wickets each.
Both of these players were members of the Bangladesh A team that competed against West Indies A in an unofficial test series that had just finished.
