Afghanistan will look to rebound in the white-ball formats following a 546-run loss to Bangladesh in the solitary Test played in Mirpur.

Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi will be available for the upcoming five-match ODI series, which will be followed by a two-match T20I series. This will substantially bolster the visitors’ chances of winning the series.

However, all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz stated that the Tigers have previously defeated a full-strength Afghanistan side and is confident that his team’s current form will enable them to surmount the Afghan challenge.

“They (Rashid and Mujeeb) made a revival, but they played in the last home series we won. Obviously, they fielded a formidable team, but we won the series by playing excellent cricket. It is inevitable that difficult situations will reoccur in cricket, as they are an inherent part of the sport. There will be various situations during a 50-over match. Miraz told the media on Wednesday following the Tigers’ training session in Mirpur, “We are mentally prepared for that, and everyone is in good form.”

According to Miraz, the Tigers intend to carry the momentum from their series against Afghanistan into the Asia Cup.

“We are concentrating on methods to play excellent cricket. The Afghanistan series is anticipated to be the final series before the Asia Cup, after which we will face New Zealand in a series before the World Cup. Therefore, we want to end on a high note and acquire confidence,” he added.
