Yesterday, the Bangladesh cricket team, led by head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, began their closed-door training camp at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The first day was spent practicing how to adapt to various match scenarios.

Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman, who play in the Indian Premier League, were not present, while Shakib Al Hasan was taking a break. The rest of the team trained hard during the session.

Media coverage of the training session was restricted to only half an hour, during which the Tigers focused on preparing for the upcoming ODI series against Ireland in the United Kingdom.

Hathurusingha and the team management decided to have the training camp in Sylhet because the tracks there are bouncy and similar to what the Tigers will encounter in Chelmsford, England.

Newcomer Pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury emphasized the importance of training in Sylhet, where the pitches are known to provide good bounce for preparation. He also noted that the Bangladesh team still has several areas to improve before facing England.

Mrittunjoy said that the pitches in Sylhet are known to be similar to the bouncy pitches in England. The team practiced on the surface and found some helpful preparation for playing in England, but it won’t be exactly the same. Overall, things are going well for the team.

The 21-year-old gave more details about the first day of the training camp, saying that the batters were given specific tasks to focus on, especially during the first 10 overs and the end of the innings.
