On Thursday, Manchester United announced that winger Jadon Sancho will train separately from the rest of the team owing to a “squad discipline issue.” This statement cast further doubt on the future of Sancho at the club.

Due to what United boss Erik ten Hag regarded to be poor performances in training, Sancho was benched for the team’s match against Arsenal earlier this month, which United lost 3-1.

The young man, who is 23 years old, provided a response by posting on social media, saying that he had been made “a scapegoat for a long time.”

United has issued a statement in which they say that “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”

When Jadon Sancho moved to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund two years ago, it cost the club £73 million, which is equivalent to $91 million today. However, Sancho has not been able to justify that price tag at Old Trafford.

He has scored 12 goals in 82 games, despite the fact that Ten Hag’s first year in charge did not always see him in the starting lineup on a consistent basis.

The absence of Sancho has made the beginning of the season even more difficult for United, both on and off the field.

The team coached by Ten Hag has struggled so far in the Premier League, losing two of their first four matches.

Antony, a Brazilian winger with the Red Devils, is also not playing because he has been granted a leave of absence so that he can defend himself against charges of domestic abuse made by his ex-girlfriend.
