The Premier League season saw Manchester United suffer their third loss as Brighton & Hove Albion triumphed 3-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Despite having a strong start, United lost the lead in the 20th minute when Danny Welbeck, playing for his old team, scored an unmarked goal in the penalty area.

After a strong response, United believed they had tied the score just before halftime thanks to a debut from high-profile player Rasmus Hojlund. However, when Marcus Rashford dragged the ball back to the Dane, it was ruled out of play.

However, Brighton made the most of that VAR reprieve, scoring two goals in the second half, one from Joao Pedro and one from Pascal Gross, which caused a ruckus around Old Trafford.

Alternate With eighteen minutes remaining, Hannibal Mejbri gave the home team a response, but Brighton easily prevailed to climb up to third place in the rankings with 12 points from five games. United lost six points and fell to 12th place.
