Man city to face arsenal in community shield on aug 60

Treble winners The Football Association of England (FA) announced on Friday that the Community Shield, which serves as the customary opening game of the Premier League season, will be played between Manchester City and Arsenal on August 6, 2023-24. The match will take place at Wembley Stadium.

Arsenal, who finished as runners-up in the league, will face City, who won both the league and the FA Cup to earn the right to play the English champions at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal finished in second place in the league, five points behind City.

The match between City and Liverpool from the previous year was moved to the King Power Stadium in Leicester City since the final of the women’s European Championship was planned to take place at Wembley during the same weekend.

On August 11, the first game of the upcoming Premier League season will be played between newly promoted Burnley and City.
