Bayern Munich improved their record in the Champions League group stage to 17 wins in a row with Tuesday’s 3-1 victory away at Galatasaray. Jamal Musiala was directly involved in both goals, assisting on the first and scoring the second.

Before Argentina star Mauro Icardi won and converted a penalty to square the scores, Musiala charged into the middle of the park to help create the opening for Kingsley Coman early on. Coman scored the opening goal for his team.

Musiala, who is only 20 years old, assisted Harry Kane in scoring, and then Kane assisted Musiala in scoring, allowing the Germany midfielder to score a goal of his own. Kane is the captain of the England national football team.

In the immediate aftermath of the triumph, Kane remarked to Amazon Prime that “It was an important win.” “They made it difficult for us in the first half but in the second we calmed down a little.”

Kane’s other goal scorer, Coman, mirrored Kane’s views, stating, “it wasn’t easy, they put plenty of pressure on us — but we got better in the second half.” Coman scored the game-winning goal.

Winners on six occasions Bayern entered the game with the goal of maintaining their fantastic run of form in the Champions League.

The German national champions went into their meeting in Istanbul undefeated, having won all 36 of their previous group stage matches, including 19 on the road.

Thomas Tuchel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, is currently the manager of Bayern and he hailed his team’s incredible record following the victory.

“I don’t know how many group stage matches I’ve done as a coach, but it’s always super difficult – so it’s great to find ourselves with nine points after three matches.”

Galatasaray, the only Turkish team to have won a European title, having done so in 2000 when they took home the Europa League, were on a streak of their own before Bayern’s visit, having gone 17 matches without suffering a defeat prior to the matchup.

After only eight minutes of play, Coman scored the game’s first goal for Bayern by finishing off a precise ball from Musiala. This was the Frenchman’s fourth goal in the prior three matches for the visiting German team.

The availability of Argentina striker Icardi, who plays for Galatasaray, was a major topic of conversation in the lead-up to the game.

Despite the fact that Tuchel stated on Monday that “my information is that he’s out for a while,” the striker who formerly played for Paris Saint-Germain was picked to start up front for the Turkish club that has won 24 titles.

Icardi quickly made his presence known, and after 29 minutes, he won a penalty kick after drawing a careless lunge from Joshua Kimmich inside the penalty area.

Sven Ulreich, the custodian for Bayern, was forced to make a diving save while the striker simply chipped in a Panenka to equalise the score.

Icardi then had a fantastic opportunity to give the home team the lead a minute before halftime, but Bayern defender Kim Min-jae came, forcing the striker to fire his effort wide of the goal. Icardi missed the opportunity.

The home team stepped up their efforts in the second half in the hopes of scoring the game-winning goal, but it was the away team that scored the following goal when Kane redirected another pass from Musiala into his own net.

Since making the transfer to Bayern from Tottenham in the summer, Kane has played in 12 games across all competitions and has scored 11 goals for the club.

After that, Musiala scored a goal for himself, finishing off a Kane pass by beating Fernando Muslera in goal to put an end to any remaining debate about who would win the match.

Since September of 2017, Bayern has not suffered a defeat in any of the group stage matches they have played in.
