Romelu Lukaku scored but was sent off in the closing minutes as Roma drew 1-1 at home to Fiorentina on Sunday in Serie A.
With a brilliant cross from Paulo Dybala, the Belgium striker headed Roma ahead in the fifth minute at the Stadio Olimpico.
Midway through the second half, Fiorentina’s defender Lucas Martinez Quarta flicked in from Christian Kouame’s curling delivery, immediately after Nicola Zalewski was sent off for a second yellow card.
Roma were then left clutching to life after Lukaku was sent out late on for a reckless challenge on Kouame.
Jose Mourinho’s men recaptured fourth place from Bologna, who had momentarily moved into the Champions League places with a 2-1 win over bottom club Salernitana.
Monza moved into the top half of the league with a 1-0 victory over Genoa, while Frosinone and Torino drew 0-0.
