Liverpool tame wolves with two late goals0

Due to two goals in the closing minutes of an incredible comeback, Liverpool defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 on the road on Saturday, moving the Reds to the top of the Premier League standings—at least for the time being.

After a spectacular run by Pedro Neto, the hosts controlled the first half at Molineux against an abnormally careless Liverpool team. Hwang Hee-chan scored a goal in the seventh minute, and Wolves squandered many more opportunities.

But Liverpool turned things around in the second half, and in the 55th, Mohamed Salah found teammate striker Cody Gakpo for a simple tap-in equalizer.

In the 85th minute, as the visitors surged forward, Andy Robertson, donning the captain’s armband on his 200th Premier League appearance, slipped in Liverpool’s second goal after another feed from Salah.

Hugo Bueno of Wolves touched the ball into his own net after Harvey Elliott’s strike, causing the away supporters to go crazy as Liverpool made it three in time added on.

Liverpool currently leads the standings with 13 points after five games as a consequence of the outcome. With three points, Wolves are ranked fifteenth.
