At the CAA Centre on Sunday, the Surrey Jaguars hitter Liton Das was unable to make his presence known in the grand finals of the GT20 Canada against the Montreal Tigers. He only managed a score of 12 off of 13 balls, and his team ultimately lost by a dramatic five-wicket margin.

After Surrey were given the option to bat first, Liton scored one boundary before being bowled by the left-arm spinner Ayan Afzal Khan of the United Arab Emirates in the 11th over. This helped Surrey reach 130 for five and was supported by an unbeaten 56 by opener Jatinder Singh off 57 balls.

Sherfane Rutherford’s 38 off 29 balls and Andre Russell’s scorching 20 off six balls were key factors in Montreal’s victory, which clinched the championship.
