Frank Lampard stated on Wednesday that Chelsea has to have a long-term vision for the club in order for the Blues to be successful moving forward under the management of its new majority shareholder.

During their first year as co-owners of Stamford Bridge, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have been forced to fire not one, but two managers at the helm of the team.

The number of points that Chelsea will end with in their Premier League tenure will set a new record low, and they will finish in the bottom half of the league for the first time since 1996.

Despite the tradition of the club to employ and dismiss players under the leadership of Roman Abramovich, Lampard was a part of a tremendously successful era for the club as a player.

However, the manager in charge of Chelsea during the interim feels that the team needs more consistency given that Mauricio Pochettino is set to be named as the club’s next manager for the upcoming season.

There have been a total of 11 managerial changes in the Premier League this season, with Chelsea being one of just three teams, along with relegated Southampton and second-from-bottom Leeds, to have fired two managers.

Lampard expressed these thoughts before his team’s trip to Manchester United on Thursday. “You wonder how successful it is always to change those things,” Lampard remarked.

“It is quite evident that it has evolved into that sort of a job and a circumstance, and there are a great deal of teams who are contending with expectations that might not be entirely reliable.

“Whatever the case may be, we live in a highly reactive environment. In previous decades, people’s responses to one, two, or even three losses would have been very different.

“Now we are experiencing this explosion very quickly, and it is imperative that you comprehend it if you are to continue in this line of work.”

Since Frank Lampard’s return to Chelsea in April, the team is now ranked 12th in the league despite having a record of 7-0 under Lampard’s leadership.
