On April 26, 2023, Virat Kohli showed a response to his dismissal while playing in the Indian Premier League against Kolkata Knight Riders at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli, the temporary captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, gave a straightforward evaluation of their performance in their recent Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders. He stated that they were not sufficiently professional and that their loss was deserved.
Bangalore, a team that has never won the IPL title, lost their fourth match out of eight games when they were defeated by 21 runs at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
Jason Roy scored 56 runs and Nitish Rana hit 48 runs off 21 balls to help Kolkata reach a total of 200-5. Despite being dropped twice, Rana performed well. In response, Virat Kohli scored 54 runs to lead Bangalore’s innings and record his fifth fifty of the season.
Kohli blamed their loss on their poor fielding rather than the soft dismissals that hindered their chase.
Kohli expressed his disappointment and admitted that they had surrendered the game.
We were not sufficiently professional in our performance, and therefore we deserved to lose.
The bowlers did well, but we didn’t catch the ball when we had the chance. This is a mistake in T20 cricket and it resulted in the other team winning easily.
Although Bangalore had a good start, scoring 51 runs in the fifth over, they were unable to take advantage of it and ended up with a total score of 179-8.
Kohli, who is captaining the team in place of du Plessis, said they did a good job with the bat. Du Plessis is only batting due to a rib injury.
The team experienced many “soft dismissals” where they hit the ball to the fielder without it being a wicket-taking ball several times throughout the game.
On Sunday, Bangalore will play against the Lucknow Super Giants.
